The Unapologetic Circle is a monthly gathering for women in the middle of life who are done pretending.
Nothing is required of you except honesty.
You are tired of being the one who holds the room.
You are the one everyone comes to. The steady one. The one who makes it work. And at the end of the day, you have nowhere to put it down.
You have a full life. A full calendar. People who love you and rely on you. And still, there is a loneliness that none of it touches.
You have scrolled past a hundred women's events and kept going, because the thought of being told to set an intention or share your wins makes you want to leave before you arrive.
You do not need to be inspired. You need to be in a room where you do not have to perform.

October 13: Boundary
Something in her has stopped agreeing. The words have not caught up.
This month’s gathering is anchored by French Braid by Anne Tyler, a novel about a family whose members spend decades concealing their real lives from one another, and a mother who draws a quiet line around what belongs to her. We will explore what happens in the space between a private decision and a public life, and what it means to hold a line no one else can see.
November 10: Letting Go
She built something real. A career, a role, a way of being in the world that worked. And somewhere along the way, she grew past it.
This month’s gathering is anchored by Stone Yard Devotional by Charlotte Wood, a novel about a woman who leaves her career in conservation to live in a remote monastery, having quietly closed the chapter on her marriage and the life she built. We- will explore what happens when a woman allows something that was once right to be finished.
December 8: Completion
Something in her has completed itself. The year is finished.
December’s gathering is different from the previous ones. It is anchored not by a single book but by the full arc of the year: ten months of themes that each named something true about the life of a woman in the middle of all of it. The reflections will draw on the year’s themes. We will explore what has completed itself, what she knows now, and what is already here.
A curated, intimate evening held once a month for a small group of women. Each gathering is anchored by a theme and a book that gives the evening its emotional shape. The space is warm. The facilitation is steady. There is no advice, no fixing, no networking, and no requirement to share anything you are not ready to say.
Women return. Not because they are asked to, but because something in the room is real.

You are a woman in the middle of life who has built something real and is quietly exhausted by the performance of holding it all together.
You want to be in a room with other women who will not ask you to be impressive, and where you will not have to explain why that matters.
You have no interest in networking, affirmations, or group exercises. You want depth, presence, and the experience of being seen without having to produce anything in return.
You are not looking for answers. You are looking for one evening where you do not have to pretend.

Monthly (with a summer break), 3:30 to 5:30 PM Godmothers Bookstore, Summerland, California
Please arrive at 3:15 PM to settle in before we begin. Limited to 20 women.
